Jacklin Falconer
Vocal Teacher, Choral Conductor

Jacklin Falconer (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Honours degree in Vocal Jazz Performance and a Master of Arts in Musicology from York University where she studied choral conducting with Dr Lisette Canton. 

She has been teaching Voice and Elementary Piano for 10 years to students of all ages. Her students have performed in musicals, auditioned for television shows and won top honours at MusicFest, RCM Exams and Rising Star competitions as well as gaining entrance into esteemed arts school programs in the GTA. (Cardinal Carter, Earl Haig, Claude Watson, St Elizabeth's, Westmount) 

She has performed with ensembles in such iconic venues as the Raptors season opening game at the Air Canada Centre and New York City's Carnegie Hall under the direction of Dr John Rutter.  

 As a conductor, she has directed the academic choirs at York University, lead the Dixon Hall Music School Choir for three seasons until their farewell performance with the recording artist K'naan, and joined the St Marys Childrens Choir family leading the Presto and FYS divisions in many performances. Under her direction Presto earned silver and bronze finishes at the Kiwanis Music Festival provincial competitions and debuted new Canadian compositions by Larry Nickle and Stephen Hatfield. The group toured Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic in 2011. In 2017 Jacklin took over leadership of Voices of Hope, a choir for people living with Parkinson’s Disease and is currently the Assistant Artistic Director of Singing OUT!  Toronto's Largest LGBTQ+ Community Chorus.

A true life long learner she continues to research, study and attend workshops by top teachers in Canada and the USA on vocal pedagogy, choral leadership and supporting Trans and Non-Binary voices. 

Jacklin founded Savoy Music Lessons to bring together a community of students who find joy in music by combining time tested music education concepts with a modern musical and educational approach.
